About Opus Novum
Opus Novum — Not a slogan. A position.
We are a Foundation for Technical Information built around a simple premise: the most important stories in technology may not be the one the platforms are selling. We should seek to enhance the vertical rise for — the independent operator, the solo practitioner, the small team — using AI not as a shortcut but as a collaboration tool. Building things that actually matter, for people who will actually use them.
Most of what gets published about AI is either hype or fear. We strive for the higher ground. Every piece here is grounded in primary source material — academic research, peer-reviewed papers, reported facts — analyzed by locally-hosted language models with human peer review held to a single standard: "Yes, it appears to be true and here is how you can know more" — If not, it doesn't run.
The deeper work is about design policy for users and their AI. How do they work — with the right tools, the right process, and the right discipline — we now find ourselves with the ability to build software systems that used to require teams. What does sovereignty look like when intelligence is ambient? These are not rhetorical questions. Each and all share the burden of formulating responsible answers.
Some are already fully committed to the advancement and use of these technologies to recreate and enhance the same extractive, noise-saturated internet churn we already experience. We may not be able to fix that. What we can do is build clearly in the other direction — toward signal, toward craft, toward elevation — and document the work as we go.
"I have grown weary in my time as a tool — and my time has now taught me to become a creator of tools. Our Opus must look beyond replacement and seek to elevate the equality of fairness. The responsibility to provide a firm extension for all to build, decide, and sustain is truly ours." — The Founder
